Sorry Jerry, I was commenting on the fact that as a new Mac user, you really stepped into a difficult situation. As already stated, you're best off not moving Applications, Utilities, Library folders, or the contents inside them. You're just asking for trouble by doing so. And as a new Mac user, it makes it even more difficult to diagnose and fix the problem because you don't have the knowledge or "Mac vocabulary" to understand what we're saying in some cases.
We'll do our best to help you out, and hopefully you'll get things running properly in short order.

I will take your information you gave me and learn from it.Now I have the app activity monitor hanging up on me. I cannot open this app.It worked okay before but now nothing happens. How do I go and undue this mess I made for myself? My Hd is not showing on the screen it is hidden.I made this folder and it copied about 20 apps and it is inside the document folder now. I appreciate it if you can list the steps to get the utility apps and activity monitor back to where it was before. Thanks J Incidentally I use to live in Phoenix Az for 6 months years ago.
When I do this recovery what about all the 650 songs I downloaded from Limewire? I should back it up before I wipe everything clean from the Hard Disc? Thanks J what do you think happened to the Activity Monitor App? cannot open at all.
When you launch Activity Monitor does it say Activity Monitor next to the Apple in the upper left of the screen, but no windows open up? Go to the Window menu in the menu bar and reopen the Activity Monitor etc window.
Remember, on the Mac, closing the application window doesn't usually quit the program except for certain Utilities.
Back up what you don't want to lose if you wipe it.
When I went to the menu this cannot open up as it keeps going the little circle round and round and the app just hangs.I really messed this app up.Yesterday I used the apps dvd and all the apps went into the HD and when I opened it up no activity monitor was listed at all.I am really confused. J
