Even though I have those options checked in the apps. This is since I installed Now X. I do not have the Now X helper set to be a startup item and I have even tried uninstalling Now X but still the same.

Are you using Snow Leopard (10.6)?
this is a Bug since more than three months.
But the Team looks only at Now X and the Users with NUDC can look through there fingers (this is a German sentence, when someone let you die without help).

Now cannot themselves easily fix the problems with QD and QC in NUDC under Snow Leopard. Apple broke the ability to use Unsanity's Menu Extra Enabler on which Now and many other developer depended for menubar items, and unless and until Unsanity releases a version of MEE that works under Snow Leopard, something that may not be even possible, it would take a major rewrite of how NUDC does the menu bar items to get them working again and that's something Now is not likely to undertake for a product that's being replaced. Anyone who depends on QD and QC in NUDC should stay with Mac OS X 10.5 or, if practical, upgrade to Now X.

It's one thing to depend on MEE, but the NUTD reminders are broken too. This is ridiculous!
