Try these directions. They are only for version 5 of NUD not Contact, they're different.
Now Up-to-Date 5 under OSX
1. Make sure you know where your primary calendar file is stored on your hard drive. You'll need to know where it is to set it as your primary file again at the end of this process. 2. Quit Now Up-to-Date (if it is running). 3. Open a new Finder window and select Home from the Go menu. 4. Once in your Home folder, go to: /Library/Preferences/ 5. Find the files named com.nowsoftware.nowuptodate.plist and com.poweronsoftware.nowuptodate.plist and move them to the desktop. 6. Find the folder named Now Up-to-Date Prefs and move it to the desktop as well. 7. Launch Now Up-to-Date, open the File menu, select Open, make sure there is a checkmark next to the option "Make this my primary file," locate your Now Up-to-Date calendar file, highlight it and click Open. 8. Open the File menu, select Save As...Save the file as the same name and location as the original. Click Yes to replace the original. This step should be taken periodically to optimize the file. 9. Trash the items moved to the desktop in steps 5 and 6.

I'm running into this same problem as well. It's on a Windows XP machine. I've never seen this before. The only thing that's different about this computer that I can think of is that Korean language is enabled and used by the user. Other than that, it's just like the other many machines I've installed NUTD on.
NUTD is also freezing. I can't get it to do anything. Reinstalling doesn't help.
Unfortunately, the windows version of Now Up-to-Date & Contact cannot be registered when using a version of windows that is running in a foreign language. You may be able to revert to English, install, register and then activate Korean, but I have a feeling it will fail to run then as well.

1. I uninstalled NUTDC and trashed all folders named "Now Software" from the system. 2. I restarted. 3. I went into Regional and Language Options control panel, and selected the Advanced tab. 4. I switched the language to English (United States) and restarted. 5. I installed NUTDC.
After that, NUTD opened without freezing. Next, to test, I did the following:
1. I switched the language back to Korean. It prompted me once again with Serial Number window with the Name, Organization, and Serial Number fields. 2. I entered the info and clicked OK, then NUTD just quit. 3. I opened it again and it popped up the "Serial Number Expired" window again. 4. I clicked OK and the three personalizing fields pop up empty again, like it forgot I had just entered them a minute ago. 5. I set the language back to English and restarted. 6. I opened NUTD and it prompted me with the "Serial Number Expired" window again. 7. I clicked OK and it popped up some exception error and quit. 8. I uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled and NUTD started working again. 9. I went back into Regional and Language Options and this time I didn't enable Korean under the Advanced tab. This time I just enabled Korean under the Regional Options tab. That seems to change things like numbers, currencies, and time. 10. I ran NUTD and it worked, so that change Korean didn't seem to affect the system. I 'm leaving it like that.
So, there is my response. Hopefully that helps if other people run into this situation.
