If your QuickContact or QuickDay items don't appear in the menubar, try the following:

1. In the Finder, go to the /Applications/Now X folder.
2. Control click on Now X.app and choose "Show Package Contents".
3. Go into the resulting Contents folder, and then into the MenuExtras folder.
4. Double-click on CalendarMenuExtra.menu and ContactMenuExtra.menu.

At that point they will be launched and should appear in the menubar.

NOTE: this is a workaround for a bug in PB1. It will be fixed in an upcoming beta.
