I’m new here and hope this isn’t a really dumb question that has been asked and answered already.
I’m running Now Up To Date and Contact on a Mac (Tiger) and synching with three Treo 90 PDAs.
I use my Notes section in Now Contact for almost everything I’ll need in life, passwords, serial numbers, etc etc and a secret recipe for the world’s best chicken salad.
I’m considering buying a touch screen (and keyboard) Phone but will never leave Verizon, not even for an iPhone. (For a tech dummy like me, their customer service has been unbelievable accessible and helpful, unlike the others.)
So my question is what new web enabled phone will have the software to accept all my old Now 5.3.1 Contact and Up To Date files without causing my head to explode in the process.
Does anybody know if the soon-to-be-introduced Palm phone will run Now 5.3.1?
If the new Palm software won’t accept the old Now data, what will be needed to move my Now files (easily, I hope) from the Mac to some other non-palm software?
Palm pre is supposed to be coming and is cdma (like verizon) BUT Sprint has the initial exclusive 90 day contract... mid 2009?? a ways to wait but people in this forum may be used to waiting... I assume the pre will accept all treo information...

It's very likely that the Palm PRE will not talk to NUDC via the old palm conduits. However, it's also a pretty good bet that it or something else you might consider will be able to talk to sync services (ie..AddressBook and iCal), which would put you in a good position by migrating to NowX when it comes out. Your existing data will come over pretty seamlessly and via sync services and/or another 3rd party apps (Markspace products comes to mind as an example) that uses sync services... you'll be able to sync your data to the new device du jour.
(Just on a side note. I was a Verizon wireless customer for 8 years, I jumped in August to the new iPhone and I haven't looked back. I'm really pretty happy with ATT for the most part.)
