I tried to send this to support, but their system is acting up, so am asking the forum...
I am a +8 year user of NCUTD, and have over 400 contacts in my file-many with vital notes
I just purchased a Blackberry and am using PocketMac to do the syncing. Now Up to Date synced perfectly. But my NC will not sync. I need to maintain all of the notes "attached" to the contacts, so exporting an dre-importing could be an iffy situation.

I would first suggest refreshing the Now Contact program prefs, as follows:
1. Make sure you know where your primary contact file is stored on your hard drive. You'll need to know where it is to set it as your primary file again at the end of this process. 2. Quit Now Contact (if it is running). 3. Open a new Finder window and select Home from the Go menu. 4. Once in your Home folder, go to: /Library/Preferences/ 5. Find the files named com.nowsoftware.nowcontact.plist and com.poweronsoftware.nowcontact.plist and move them to the desktop. 6. Find the folder named Now Contact Prefs and move it to the desktop as well. 7. Open your Now Contact file and make it your primary contact file (Launch Now Contact, open the File menu, select Open, make sure there is a checkmark next to the option "Make this my primary file," locate your Now Contact file, highlight it and click Open). 8. Trash the items moved to the desktop in steps 5 and 6.
The 'poweronsoftware' file may not exist on your system. It is from an earlier version of Now Contact.
If that does not allow the sync, try creating a new local file and doing a 'drag import' to maintain all your existing notes and categories.
1) Open the contact file with which you are having problems. 2) Open the File menu and select New... to create a new contact file. Name it, check it as the primary file and save it. 3) Press Command-W to close the blank standard view window. 4) Press Command-K to delete the blank contact entry from the list view. 5) Adjust the windows sizes of the blank new contact file and your original file so you can see both on your screen. 6) Press the All button in the list view of your original file to show all your contacts then press Command-A to select all contacts. 7) Hold down the Command/Apple key and drag all selected contacts over to the blank new contact file.
Try the sync with the new primary file. This will break any existing links between Now Up-to-Date and Now Contact. They(the links) will still appear, and can be re-connected, but will be broken by this process.

I have the same problem, with both now contact and now uptodate. I just purchased a blackberry bold and downloaded pocketmac 4.125. I'm running Now 5.32 on a Macbook running 10.4.11
As you instructed I removed the com.now files from preferences. That didnt work. So I created a new now contact file, that didnt work. The error message im getting from PocketMac is.
Eror encountered: -19986 in GetContactField
NSCFArray addOject;} attempt to insert nil
It looks like its synching, it opens the now contact and now puptodate files during the process and the blackberry screen shows the syncing icons (computer and device icons with an arrow between them)
I've tried several of the fixes on the PocketMac/Blacberry solutions page, but none have worked.
The only thing I did notice after using your fix was the the single phone number I had manually entered into my blacberry was overwritten after I syncched with your fixes. Any ideas?
Did you ever get your blackberry to syn with either your contact file OR calendar. Mine did neither... And yes I have PocketMac for Blackberry that purports to sync with NOW. I'm a mac and ATT Blackberry bold user...
I'm closing in on 30 days trying to do so -- and am about to jump ship and go to an iphone (as I can do that within the 30 days)
The blackberry support admitted that their program doesn't work and had me switch my calendar to ical and my contacts to address book. I hate that (I'm a 10+yr user of NUDC)...
Anyone have any blackberry like devise that DOES syn? Iphone? I need a PDA that pushes emails, the works out of the country AND works with NOW - any suggestions??
No, I still havent got my blackberry bold to sync with Now contact or calendar. It will sync with the Mac address book and the iCal so I know its not a problem with the Pocket Mac software or my blackberry. Its clearly somekind of problem with the Now software. Can someone please suggest a fix to this.
