The "Comment" field is in the detail view of a contact. I use it ALL the time to make notes of clients and conversations.
If you move a Contact from one category to another you loose the Comment. It seems the Comment field is never a Public Field even if you "Make all Public" when you change categories.
This has nothing to do with exporting a contact list.
I hope John or someone from the Tech dept can answer my question.

Whether you did a text export, and checked 'Comments' to export, or did a drag import to a new file, your Comments should have been included. You are correct that 'Comments' is not a shared field, so they will only appear in the local file where they are created. But if exported, imported, or category changed to public, they should still appear in that file. Is it the comment information you are missing, or is the comment field itself closed? If the field is closed, take your mouse pointer to the top edge of the 'Notes' field and it should become a double arrow/diamond. Click down the mouse button and drag the field open.

Yup it was the small but VERY IMPORTANT detail that the "drag to a new file" has to be done separately locally for each computer and user, I my case that is many computers.
This instruction was not conveyed on the phone or in print - emailed to me.
At this stage I must just move forward hoping Nighthawk will be the panacea that I bought into 2 years ago.
