What kind of printer do you have? If you don't use the printer a lot, the ink might get too dry to flow easily, and that can produce strange colors. Depending on the kind of printer driver you have, there are ways of unclogging the printer nozzles.

Great wits are sure to madness near allied.--John Dryden, "Absalom and Achitophel"

If you are printing something red, and it comes out pink, that means you're yellow is either empty, or the nozzles are clogged.

Visit Me At My .Mac Site

Use the printer utility to run a *test*, then use it to clean the nozzles - if it still doesn't work, then yes, you probably need a new color cartridge.

Visit Me At My .Mac Site

Have you done a search under Lexmark? If you can't find anything that way, then go to /Library/Printers/Lexmark and open up that Lexmark folder to see whether you can find a folder in there that reads "Utilities." That's the arrangment for Epson and HP, which are the only kinds of drivers I have on my set up.

Great wits are sure to madness near allied.--John Dryden, "Absalom and Achitophel"

OK, failing that, I'd go here and download the drivers to see if the utility is in there somewhere. The only other thing I can think of is that the utility is somehow or other in the print window. I don't use a Lexmark, so don't know about that possibility

Great wits are sure to madness near allied.--John Dryden, "Absalom and Achitophel"
