OWC is perhaps my favorite site. Intel has just introduced a 40 GB SSD for $125. Prices continue to drop on these things.
When they drop to the price of $80 for a 1TB drive I'll be impressed. Otherwise I don't see it. I can RAID magnetic drives and get better performance, or better reliability, plus 100x the storage space for less money.

I haven't checked in 6 months but I remember reading about performance issues... mainly writing over the same block too many times and it going bad.. or something along those lines. Have they resolved the issue?

There shouldn't be many problems with the memory itself failing, but there have been drives with bad controllers that just suddenly stop working. Also I remember reading about those intel drives becoming increasingly slower and slower, unless you wipe the drive.
