Sorry, much harder to post this in the correct forum, as after installing the latest Safari update, I have no bluetooth mouse - and no bluetooth in System Preferences! And... no wired mouse in the house, more fool me . So I'm doing all this with assistive keyboard mouse(-ish) and bookmarks. I'm going to call Apple and ask for help!

Hmm, bluetooth seems dodgy since I installed the Safari 4.0.5 update - Apple are going to replace the 'faulty' magic mouse, but I don't think it's the problem. Have to get a wired mousey today.

Numerous reboots, resetting logic board by unplugging everything for 30 seconds etc. Safari update includes the webkit, which affects a whole slew of bits of OSX (Mail, iTunes, etc. etc.) so it wouldn't surprise me if it somehow borked the bluetooth networking by accident.
I've just had to buy a usb mouse so I can get back to normal life - now to wait and see whether anyone else has bluetooth problems, or whether the replacement magic mouse magically restores my iMac's bluetooth capability at the same time.

PRAM zapping doesn't help. The only thing that brings bluetooth back is resetting the logic board (shut down, unplug everything including the power cord, wait 30 sec, reconnect and restart). But if I try to get the magic mouse to connect, it kills the bluetooth again and I have to redo the logic board reset.
I don't have any other bt gear to test it with.

Update - it was the magic mouse that died after all. I've just received a new one from Apple (which has had some subtle redesign since the old one, interestingly enough - more robust casing. glide feet) and it connected fine.
Just goes to show that coincidence is sometime just that.
