We ventured south to the Everglades on Thursday and Friday. Our main destination objective was Billie Swamp Safari on the Big Cypress Seminole Reservation. Very nice place! We enjoyed an hour long Swamp Buggy Eco-tour of the wildlife refuge, saw a "critter" show of native Florida small animals, took a 30 minute airboat ride. All reasonably priced. The small chickee structures are for overnight stays if desired (it was going to be in the 30s, so we opted for a motel near La Belle). On Friday, we wandered and took a short hike along the Caloosahatchee River west of La Belle, went to a Florida winery outlet shop, and made a stop at the Tampa Bay Rays spring training facility in Port Charlotte before heading home.

Wonderful pictures, Michael! Man, that is some beautiful country. Easy to see how y'all enjoyed it so much. The racoon pic is my fave. I walked away from my computer to answer the phone, and when I came back? One of the dogs was downloading it. Sorry, they have their own screen savers file. Can't trust them for a minute. wink

Very nice pictures. Your timing was flawless: right between these last two weather systems.

As for me, I was in your town Wednesday night to watch the US men's team score in the second minute of stoppage time to beat El Salvador 2 to 1. Rainy and windy but still a lot of fun.
