One of the very few things about S. Fla. that still brings me to giggles is the chilly snap we had during one week in December '04. I used to ride my folding bike to the station at Deerfield Beach where I caught the choo-choo to Ft. Lauderdale. Morning temps started out in the mid-30s (but were well into the 70's before noon), so I wore a nylon windbreaker and lycra tights for the morning bike ride. But most of the peeps at the station looked like they just stepped out of a North Face catalog! I'm talking Nanook of the South! Good grief peeps, it's just a little chill!
