BTW, I'm at native screen res (1440x900), and have a GeForce 8600M GT with 128mb of VRAM. Connected to my 24" external monitor at 1900x1200, I don't experience any issues, either.

that being said, my wife and i build educational software for students with disabilities. all of our software is built using Flash, so i hope it's not going away. we embed a lot of video, but there is much interactivity in the software as well. i assume some Flash based video will shift to HTML 5, but i suspect Flash is here to stay for quite a while and it's certainly crummy it's not on the iPad. the processor on the iPad should be capable and they should be able to give the machine the right amount of RAM to keep it happy.
i just don't think the iPad can be used to replace a laptop or computer. i think people who try are going to be sorely disappointed.

Well, they sort of teased netbooks in the presentation, but it doesn't replace them- it's not even in the same market. Flash is going to go through an evolution similar to JavaScript and AJAX... well, it already is, in many ways.
I'd be interested to know why you're unable to get decent YouTube viewing on your machine...

This is as big as I can get it before I start noticing the stutter. (the window is 1600x950 pixels) Notice my CPU pegged in the menubar.

That is not the market that it is designed to compete in. It's a complimentary device to a full fledged computer. For those of us who want to wander around the house and surf wirelessly at a great price, it fits the bill.
