After posting in here last night I decided to give the "Extras" on the BD a look...wow...lot's of interviews with people who worked with Kubrick on the film or were in the film or were inspired by his work...oh..and lots of Arthur C Clark. They even show the large "ferris wheel" they built for the rotating room shots. Lengthy segments including ones narrated by james Cameron...Speilberg and Lucas.. and one by Bowman himself, Keir Dulea. Lots of insights as to what Kubrick was thinking..or may have been thinking.
Fell asleep watching the extras... gonna check out some more tonight.
Dunno Mr B.. do you drink? I know a lot of people who sit back with booze in hand and condemn others who puff a little pot instead. I will say this... marijuana has much less deleterious effect on the body than booze. Much less. I have never smoked so much pot that it made me throw up. Unless I combined it with alcohol. I have never sped down the highway too fast after pot... more like drove too slow. I have never had to call in sick the morning after because my head was splitting in two like a bomb. And so on..... WQhereas alcohol alters the mind it seems to take the mental function down a notch...or 5. Pot seems to elevate thought processes and provoke your mind to see things in alternative way. Which is the perfect way to see a movie of this type.
