So we made our plans for a short 9 day South Maui vacation at the end of May. Lots of good snorkeling and kayaking in the area.

I have always stayed in West Maui before, this time I decided to go with South Maui as it seems to have a lot more snorkeling spots.

This is the last resort south of the Wailea/Makena area, kind of a bit more secluded, so that appeals to us. Gonna have a Jeep Wrangler to tool around in. Should be fun! Aloha baby!

Is this the Maui Prince? Looks like it to me. My wife and I honeymooned there 10 years ago and absolutely loved it. There is a spectacular snorkling cove (a designated marine reserve) a few minutes walking distance, and the boat out to Molokini pulls right up onto that beach to pick you up.
It was (not sure if it still is) Japanese owned and had an incredible sushi restaurant, beautiful gardens and koi ponds. We were there in mid-March and it was quiet and serene, a world removed from the Kaanapali/Lahaina madness.

If you've ever driven that road you know how comical this is.

LOL. My wife and I were there 10 years ago too!
We loved it and loved the koi that looked like confetti from above. We loved the Japanese garden with the pond in the middle of the hotel. It inspired us to have our own koi pond.
The golf is great, the service is tops and I do like the "touches" in the rooms.
I want to go back there, now!

Our travel agent metioned to the hotel that we were there for our honeymoon and they upgraded us into a deluxe ocean view suite and complimentary breakfast buffet – mahi mahi, rice, papaya, pineapple, mango & passion fruit. Every afternoon we'd order a pot of Kona coffee and sit on our balcony for an hour and a half watching the sunset.

Here some photos.
I have many more I just have to drag them off my Kodak CDs.

Road to Hana

Hana Bay

Opana Point north Maui

Soth West Maui nude beach
