This may seem rudimentary to most of you, but I wanted to ask how to put a picture up under my name in my posts? In the Control Panel it asks for a URL and I don't quite understand how to do that. Please help!

You need to first upload a picture , I think 64 by 64 pixels, to your server space. You usually get space with your ISP, or if you have .mac, you can use that.
Tell us if you have server space, if not, we can tell you where to get it, and then we will go from there.

[color:red]Listen...

Like Lori says, once you get your images up on the web somewhere, the rest is a piece of cake. If you need server space, let us know so we can all give you advice. We love to do that, especially if it all conflicts

Great wits are sure to madness near allied.--John Dryden, "Absalom and Achitophel"

I think it is 60 X 75 Lori, isn't it?

Lislaz, you might have problems with some ISPs though, just be forewarned. Sometimes you can't link a picture or file from some of them.

I would be glad to host your sig pic or avatar in the meantime, if you need that, until you find server space. Just send me a private message and we can work that out. I am sure that anyone else here with a .Mac account would offer to do that too.

There's free avatar hosting sites around...do a search.

That's where some people put their avatars when they don't want anyone else to know who they are...

[color:red]Hold on, it's time for a
Excellent! You guys are really great -- unfortunately, no extra excitement. You didn't conflict. Darn.

How worth is it to sign up for .mac? The macstaff was trying to sell it to me but if I'm not well-versed in html how useful is it?

Your question sounded normal to me. I asked it myself and like you was rewarded from the folks here with many offers for help. I love my mac but it is a daily struggle to try and learn. You are not alone, there are more of us then we let on.
