carp Dino's are Babe magnets Registered: 04/19/02 Posts: 26020 Loc: Hawaii	Not sure where to place this ? Notebooks , General Mac Topic , Apple World , iPod ? Anyway move it to where appropriate Apple's alleged Kindle-crusher set for spring release? Its really a "netbook" expected priced at 1,000 - question is those go around 399 - wtf ? _________________________

DLC I invented modding! Registered: 11/04/02 Posts: 13080 Loc: Lilburn, GA	The PC NetBooks have a 20%+ higher failure rate than PC Notebooks which are already higher than Desktops. PC World says it's because of their cheap price... the builder must use cheap components to make any profit and that's a slim one as it is... so cheap Netbook = cheap parts = high failure rate. Apple if they charge $800 (vs $400) may be a better deal if it's reliable and has a low failure rate. The $400 PC netbook might look attractive, but if it fails you have a $400 PAPER weight !! _________________________ David (OFI)
