I have a G4 1ghz Dp from an xserve which runs on the 133 bus. I'd like to put this in a 167bus logic board and downclock the cpu back to the original speed 1ghz.
What effect will this have on the cpu and cache will there be any issues by keeping the same cpu speed and upping the bus?

It's kinda hard to underclock the FSB. I know with the G4 sawtooth you can solder on a dipswitch and change the motherboard's FSB some but as for the CPU it self it's a bit tricky, it will require some skillful soldering.
I'm looking at getting a dual 1Ghz xserve, putting it in a 167Mhz mobo, but leaving the bus at 167. Any idea if this CPU can handle the overclock to 1.25Ghz (7.5 x 167)? Or will I probably need to drop the multiplier a bit from 7.5?
