So apparently one can only take apart the macbook keyboard and fix it so many times before it stops working never to work again... And I have reached that point. My eyes hurt from soldering tiny little things. Anyway, what other top cases are compatible with the core duo? Or do I have to find a core duo specific top case. period. the end?

thanks

Should be, if not you can fab up a adapter for it.

what exactly do you mean? Are they pin compatible, just not the same connector or same location?
If that is the case, sounds easy enough.

Apple likes to reuse the same hardware but ether make it bigger or smaller. Once in a while however they will change the connector around.

MacBook top cases are all compatible. Newer ones have different layouts so need newer versions of the OS to work 100% right.

I use linux on my macbook and macbook pro, and I custom programmed my keyboard layout. So it wouldn't be very hard to change it around to work with a different keyboard.
