Okay, I was looking around on ebay, and I found this. http://cgi.ebay.com/IBook-G3-laptop-part...1QQcmdZViewItem for $65.00 so I bought it, even though I don't really need it that much. Now for the discussion How much are G3 ibooks worth nowadays, if I did fix it? How can I fix the video problem? I've heard of torching it? Is there any way to replace the cells in the battery? If I don't fix it, what cool mods could I do to my current ibook with parts from it? thank you.

I know G3 desktops are dirt cheap and laptops are still pricey but nowhere close to brand new.
There is a simple fix for the video overheat issue, I forgot it though. As for the battery you can build a whole new power cell unit for half of the price of a new battery. Crack open the battery casing and find out what size cells you need.
That iBook has the same case that I cleaned and painted and stuck on my G4 iBook. http://www.macmod.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2977 You're not really going to be able to fix it and sell it for too much more, but you'd have fun modding it.
