QS are great, but that is a ton of dough to dump on it. As for G5s, pick up a Dual-core 2.3. No h2o leakage and the fastest fan cooled version. Otherwise get a dual cpu 2.0, they are dirt cheap and still pretty fast, far faster than a fully rigged QS.
I'm a semi retired academic coot (76+years) who was given a plain vanilla non-operating Silver Fish by a colleague.Got it going.But spare change even for a 512 stick is a major expense.Which is why I am inspired by posts such as yours. Right now I am hollowing out a twenty year old hard drive in order to mount 2 cooling fans for the 7200 rpm drive. In the old country it's called a bidouille. 767 drives sure do run hot!!! 73s John
