Registered: 11/15/07 Posts: 341	Hey guys as you may or may not know I'm finally gonna get off to college on sunday. and I need a new laptop cause my iBook just cant cut it anymore I'm going to be a Robotic Engineering Major at WPI so I'm gonna need all the power I can get into a portable package. Do you think they are going to update the macbook pros anytime soon? cause I can wait a little bit longer and push the iBook a bit harder but if they aren't gonna be updated for awhile I'll order it this week asap!

whitlock Moderator Emeritus Registered: 06/07/04 Posts: 1266 Loc: Stoughton, WI USA	Well the current thought thats circulating is that since Apple is phasing out trade conferences AND they released updates in October, that the current MBP with the exception of the 17" would be the most current. If you want a 17" in the unibody, I'd expect a refresh tomorrow. It's a shame because you'll no longer be the iBookdude.

Registered: 11/15/07 Posts: 341	true it would be a shame but my iBook is too slow, I don't have any HD space left only like 2 gigs and theres nothing I can delete you say there may be an update to the 17 inch one tomorrow? I thought apple wasn't part of Macworld Expo anymore so there won't be any announcements

They just said it wasn't removable: "10:17AM "We've designed a battery that will last 8 hours on a charge, and can be charged 1000 times..." "The key to building a longer battery is making it bigger... the challenge is where to find the space to put it... in a removable battery there's a lot of wasted space."
