Hey everyone, got an issue I'd like to see if someone can help me solve.
At work, I need to move an older G5 into a sound edit bay that has an iso-rack. The system currently in there is a Quicksilver G4, and it just BARELY fits in the iso-rack. Now, I need to replace it with a G5, and there's no way it will fit. And it needs to go into the rack for sound dampening.
So, my question is this: Is there anyone out there who has been able to fit the guts of a G5 tower into a 3rd-party, smaller, PC case? Any suggestions?
This could def be done. AFAIK, alot of the g5 is used for the cooling zones. You will have to be very careful though as those g5 processors get really hot. They need plenty of cooling. If you are gonna try this, I would recommend using water cooling for less noise and better cooling...
