I just recieved an apple ibook g3 600mHz/20gb/128mb/combo. Its a nice computer but it wont get past the grey apple logo screen. It could be that the logic board has started going but i would like to believe it hasnt. Is there any way i can rescue this computer??
The gray apple logo screen is characteristic of OS X Jaguar and Above. OS 9.x has a 'Happy Mac' followed by the Mac OS 9 Boot panel with extensions startup view on the bottom of the screen. If there isn't anything important on the HD I'd recommend you boot from the CD and install a fresh copy of OS X.
