BigO Registered: 10/23/07 Posts: 96	I just bought a new Macbook. The 12" Powerbook that it's replacing had a very loud optical drive (no, that's not why I replaced it) especially when inserting or ejecting a disk. I'm disappointed that the Macbook has an even LOUDER drive than the Powerbook! I'm pretty sure that it isn't a faulty drive, but just how these drives normally operate. Does anyone know if there is a compatible replacement drive on the market that will operate more quietly? --O

At first I honestly though the thing was broken, I'd never heard any laptop since floppy days make that loud of a noise. My cards have always been with MCE, I've used their Superdrives in two of my Macs already and was very satisfied.
