An easier way to do it than using solder is to use some automotive rear window defroster repair paint. Its easier to fix if you make a mistake. I've used it on several processors and it works great.

What I have done with my overclocking I use a small jewel flat head screw driver and pop the resistor off then used a conductive marker to close the connections I wanted. Even popping the resistors off won't hurt the PCM unless you really dig into the board.
Also a pair of toe nail clippers can do wonders also for removing the resistors.

Except that you risk pulling up the pad and/or the trace. Better to use an xacto to *gently* cut through the solder connection and pull the resistor.
