A friend of mine at work heard about the fateful death of my iPod. He had a iPod nano (2GB) but no computer. He got it as a Christmas gift. Well he came up to me and said I have a iPod to sell you. I asked how much and he said 10 bucks.
Well since I have a working LCD from my 5.5gen I wonder if I can modify the nano to use the LCD from the 5.5gen. I don't care about the hard drive size. On the old iPod I used about a gig out of 80GB. I just hate how small the screen is.
Anyone willing to help me dig up the pinouts for both LCDs?
A fun thing to do to the Nano is switch out the black clickwheel for the white/gray one. It looks pretty awesome. Or even better then that, you could get a hold of a White Nano, and RIT dye it.
They are right you can go to pawn shops and get 30 gig ipod photo's for 40.00 a lot of pawn shop's are unloading older ipods this might be a good time to check them out before ebay.
Remember though if you through ebay and the ipod you purchased doesn't sync with itunes.
Format the ipod in disk utilitys or even windows in fat 32 and do a restore in itunes this will fix any issues.
This also fixes almost all of the ipods on ebay that wont sync as well.
