Anybody know what happened to it? I decided it was high time to get SATA for my Digital Audio and found that it wasn't available. Macsales.com doesn't even seem to have a product listing for it anymore. Perhaps they had manufacturing problems? I doubt they had trouble selling the things, seemed like a pretty good deal.
While I realize there are plenty of other cards to pick from, I really wanted an eSATA port.
No worries man! You can get a pci plate with esata on it. Try http://www.performance-pcs.com. Sure its not the most convenient, but it works. They may be working on a revision. Actually, I have a contact at Firmtek (they make most of the Mac cards). I will give her a buzz and see whats up when I get some free time. By the way, I have owned several of their cards and they work great.
I bought a few fans from them on your recommendation last year and was really impressed. The heatwrapping is nice and the products were good and inexpensive. Thanks for the tip!

I would be very interested to hear what she has to say. I did contact a rep at OWC, but he is new and said he only started a few months ago. He does not know of any OWC branded card, but he did mention that OWC stopped carrying a brand named Syba due to some problems with the products. I have never seen a Syba branded product at Macsales.com, so I thought perhaps Syba was manufacturing the OWC card?
I am glad you found PPCS.com to be a good place. I actually ordered a part and the owner called me to let me know they were out of stock and asked if I would like a different one so that my order would not be delayed. Now that is service!
Any pci slot esata/sata will work fine with a mac card. OWC has gone through some serious changes in the past year. I would not doubt that they dropped the card due to issues. The red cards are made by Firmtek and the green ones by Acard. Both are fine as far as my experience goes. Firmtek has great customer service. The Firmtek one is 64 bucks at http://www.macsales.com. A good buy although you may be able to find one cheaper one eBay. While browsing macsales (OWC), I saw that they too have the pci slot esata adaptor, but it is a lot more expensive than those I have seen. Dont worry as they are all the same.
