so anybody have any info on how i might or if it is possible to modify my g5 dual 2.0 to accept ddr2. right now i'm limited to 8gb of ram because of the generation. i want to get upto 16 or 32, but my mac needs to accept ddr2. any info would

As far as I know DDR and DDR2 use the same pin setup. Also I think you can use DDR2 with out modding anything but theres no point because 8GB I think is the max the system will use.
I got 4GB in my Mac Pro. I could use a little more, maybe 6 or 8 tops. But, anything over that would be overkill for sure. Unless you are doing 3d and/or heavy video work or something, its a waste.

actually i'm trying to see how much i can beef up for not only really high end graphics, but also professional recording, i know the killer in using softwares such as reverb, you have latency and other issuses regarding ram. and most importantly i'm going to be editing in hd. 1440x1080i. and eventually hopefully uncompressed hd(once i can afford the raid). uncompressed hd is somewhere around 650gb per hour. so when editing i'd like the ram to be able to do as much as possible.
i just was wondering how much my generation of g5 could handle and yes out of the box it can do 8gb. but i was wondering if i could modify it to be able to take on more. i may have up to 10 tb RAID 0. has anyone here used either the swift data or max connect aftermarket kits? i'm just trying to figure out how much power i can get get. editing such large amounts of data can be tedious, especially waiting for rendering and such.
