The MDD is very different that the previous G4s. The cpu has higher bus speeds and the cpu uses a different mounting mechanism because it is a new shape. It also uses a much heavier heatsink.

This is correct. If you look on the Sonnet site for example they have upgrades that work in the Sawtooth through to the Quicksilver and then they have separate upgrades for the MDD.
The connector is different all together..
