I have a Gigabit Ethernet G4 400 MHz and an old 733 Quicksilver CPU (from a quicksilver with a bad mobo). Can I use the Quicksilver CPU with the GE mobo or am I better off selleng whats left of my QS and buying a CPU upgrade?

I imagine it will work as many G4 upgrades work from the Sawtooth up to the QS so that means they all use the same board socket for the CPU. Keep in mind though that the 733 speed is based on a 133mhz bus. Your GE has a 100mhz bus so without some soldering will run it at 550mhz.
I'm sure maestro can offer some advice as he overclocked a QS cpu board. If I remember correctly he overclocked a 733 to 867. On a 100mhz bus you may get it to run 800 or 850 but 750 is a sure thing i'd say.

Zen is right, the multiplier changes because of bus speed. You can safely run 933 (I have mine at 867) by cleaning the old thermal pad off and using some Arctic Silver 5. Try and add a small fan to if you can fit one. You are going to need to add 12v to the unused post too. Just tap into one of the free molex plugs. Google up some QS oc'ing and you can find the resister maps (as far as I know, all of the QS maps relate to all of the QS cpus, so you wont need one specific for you 733).

Powerlogix doesn't have the greatest reputation. If you skim through the CPU upgrade reports on xlr8yourmac.com you will see several Powerlogix horror stories. The price is low for a reason.
Fastmac, Daystar (formerly XLR8) and Sonnet are all well respected.

Actually the multiplier doesn't change unless you do it manually with solder. A 733 board is set to a 5.5x multiplier. 5.5 x 133 = 733 and 5.5 x 100 = 550.
Obviously you know this but i'm just clarifying what I meant.
