Basically as a followup to a previous thread, I'm wondering. Is there a possible way to use an G5 iMac as a monitor. Ideally I would like to cut into the existing wiring to input a dvi signal, and use a KVM to run my PC through it. Although, is there a mac peripheral which will do fullscreen, or nearly fullscreen video input through USB or Firewire in real time?
You cannot use integrated LCDs as external LCDs, whether they come from iMacs or laptops, they do not have the controllers required to provide signal conversion from VGA or DVI to their variable LVDS pinouts. And its too expensive to get around it.
