Although I have not had a LCD apart, I would guess it is the same as a laptop LCD except the inverter is closer to the display instead of in the laptop. I have replace CCFL's in several Mac laptops, if you are careful and can solder well its not too hard. Go to iFixit and click on the guides. Other than opening it up, it has to be the same. Then go to digikey and order your CCFL and solder away. Hope this helps a little. Good luck!
