Generally any standard drive will fit and will work as long as there is a driver for it. Either the native OSX drivers or Patchhburn http://www.patchburn.de/ Since this drive shipped in a mac I can only assume it uses the built in driver. You also need to be aware that most powerbooks have a seperate ATA bus for the optical and hard drive. The ibook G3 uses a single bus, as such either the hard drive or optical drive you use must jumpered to slave.
