Been wondering about the internal ports I don't use on my G4 systems, particularly the modem card port and the airport card port. Is it possible to use these motherboard connectors for other purposes?

What G4 model is it? the modem can be used as a serial port giffen offered adapters but that is almost useless now. The airport slot is a special PMCIA slot unless it is a firewire 800 model then it is a variant of mini PCI that does not hold to the form-factor and because of that it will only work with the airport extreme.

yeah its a gigabit ethernet and a mdd fw 800. Has anyone ever modded these ports? I've found the giffen adapter but not much else
