Is this possible at all? My iBook G3's HD died and I want to replace it. Is it possible to put in a flash-based HD and what type should I be looking for?

I imagine this would increase access speed and battery life a good bit, but what about the limited writes to flash media? I can't see how this is really a viable long term option yet.

Be careful on the brand of CF reader you get. I have three of them and I've tried all 3 on my PCs and Macs and they make the system unstable or the whole system slow down. Although when they do work it's fast as heck. I had one working at one point with a 512MB card on a laptop with Free-DOS/WfW3.11 and it was quick.
