I tryed to do that with my iBook (snow) and screwed up big time with it. I ended up painting it black.

I did the same with my first generation clamshell. Wow yours is still in nice condition, mine is really beat up.

I did the same (well, I took out the shielding under the palmrest too) with the Tangerine I just sold on eBay. I love the look of it, though yours looks even better condition than mine!
