I've had professional-looking results with Krylon Fusion. However, AFAIK, the MacBooks use the same polycarbonate material used in the iBook G4s, so you can likely boil the casing in RIT fabric dye.
I did this with my iBook G4 and will find another to work on, so I can create a guide.

I don't think the MacBook uses the exact same plastic as the iBooks. For a start, its whiter than the iBooks, it has a different feel to it, the early whit units had discolouration issues (apparently they reformulated the top case plastic to solve this), and the black ones feel different again. I suppose the bottom case and the display rear housing might be the same as the iBook G4s, but take care boiling the top case and display bezel, as these are very soft and pliable.
