anyone know how feasible it would be to put a built-in isight from a macbook into an ibook g3 800? the macbook pro display bezel with isight is available for $130... sounds like it could be fun, but does the ibook even have the ability to take the isight directly on the board? could i sacrifice one usb port?
You can order the iSight without the bezel from a MacBook if you have a friendly service centre. Should be cheaper. Sadly you would need USB2, and you only have USB 1.1. The IR sensor would be doable for Front Row.
Sadly the iBooks were devoid of bluetooth until the G4, otherwise you would have an internal port free to use. But you should be able to wire it to a USB port on the board. Be careful though.
