Hi. I've got an old Power mac 8500. And I want to use with my livingroom stereo with mp3. But I would like to make some kind of Mac in a Box. I don't want to use a monitor because I don't have one and is big. On the other side I've got a fried mother older 3400 powerbook. So I guess if can I use the LCD display for the Power mac. Any help apreciated. Noto

You can't use the LCD. The reason for that is the LCD doesn't have the contorller and inverter. All of that is built into the powerbook's logicboard. Although you can use a videocard that has S-Video and use the TV in your livingroom. Or if you want a LCD that bad you can always do a Playstation LCD mod that a lot of PC modders use. Or keep the system headless and control the system via VNC from another computer on a local lan.
