Hi, I was wondering if there was a certain mac that might be best for connecting to my amp for best sound quality. I was hoping to attach something so I could discard my cd player.
Macs have always had good quality on-board sound. Pretty much any Mac will do you just fine, though later machines have optical outputs as well as analogue. Mactracker is a good reference as to which Mac has what.

For a example of my setup. I have a G4 Cube hooked up to a old car 4 channel amp in the garage with some old jensen speakers. Sounds great and blows away my neighbors stereo that he has in his garage.
