Ok I got my harddrive in and after I tried to install macosx 10.2 it fails to boot after the first cd finished. it locks up with white lines across the screen at the apple logo..right now Ive got my old drive back in with new ram and it works well but I want to upgrade to the 40gig. Any help is appreciated.
There could be a couple of reasons this happened. First is the memory, maybe that new memory has fixed it. Second is a loose connection. Those fragile ribbon cable need to be firmly (but gently) connected. Try again....I know it sux cuz the clamshells are a chore to work on, but the more you do it, the better you will get.
Try booting from the install cd and repair permissions. after I installed 10.4 on my clamshell it would not boot until I repaired permissions, now it works fine.
