Hey Mac_newbie, Welcome to MacMod! Although there are "window kits" and "light kits" out there mostly for Pc's Mac Modding is a mostly "From Scratch" Kinda' thing. You grab the soldering iron or dremel and paint can and go to it. This showcases your artistic or electronic skill, or in some cases, lack there of. So get out that pencil and paper, drawl something up and have at it! Start small and befor you know it you'll be winning the "Great Mod Challenge"! Woo-hoo!

Modding your Mac is a process you can only learn by experience. Not to say I'm such a professional, 'though, but I have succesfully modded some of my Macs with the help of MacMod, and have found that experience is indeed the best way to learn. Just grab an obsolete Mac (or an old ADB Mouse, like I did) and pull out the tools. Once you get accustomed to the stress of modifying something you paid (or didn't pay) a lot of money for, it's a really fun process that can give you a lot of satisfaction (I will never forget the joy of first booting up my iBook after OC'ing it to 400Mhz).
if its case mods that you are looking for specifically, there's a lot of forum discussion and a few mod guides on installing a mac into a pc aftermarket case...also, there's a few guides and technique articles on forming your own acrylic case. Just poke around and you'll find what you're looking for. Believe it or not, but Mac Modding isn't that old and you may very well end up pioneering a mod idea.
