Does anyone know if apple's refurbished G5s are any good? I mean they come with a warrantee and you can get the extended warrantee with it. But are they worth the expense? I know some parts are just going to die. that i don't mind(hard drive. so on so forth). Has anyone gotten one direct from apple.com before?
My main Mac is a refurb PowerMac G5. Its great. It came with extras I did not order and was brand new. Refurb not only means used and repaired, but also new old stock and returned. Go for it, Apple has a great track record for service.

I know quite a few people w/ Apple refurbs and are just as happy with them. Now that I think about it, I have never seen any negative articles about Apple refurbs. I bet they exist, but that should say something considering that I surf at least 30-40 web sites a day just on Apple news.

periodically, we'll get machines in shop that are refurb. The only difference is in the stickers that have the machines personal info. Warranties are the same. Maestro is correct as well. refurb could be a number of things. Usually though, its something that was either part of apple's demo program, or something that was retail stock and was returned, and cant be sold new.
So yeah, go with refurb. Its a good way to save some bucks.
