Right now im able to burn CDs and DVDs but can not run DVD Player or iDVD. I tryed the latest version of PatchBurn and that just gave me burning support. I remember finding a site that said the DVR-110ds that apple uses a special firmware patch. _________________________ To live is to let die

Waragainstsleep Registered: 02/13/05 Posts: 1723	What OS are you running? I put one in a G4 the other day, and it was completely supported. Without Patchburn. Doesn't seem to be the case with my MDD though.

TCPMeta MacModder Registered: 11/15/07 Posts: 1797 Loc: Florida, USA	Mac OS X 10.4.3 and 10.4.5. I've tryed it on my iBook as a firewire device and USB. I also tryed it on my sawtooth as IDE with the same luck. PathBurn just adds burning support but no DVD video playback support. _________________________ To live is to let die

Quick google for the old hack to enable 3rd party burners with iDVD showed up this thread: http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?t=23370 Even if this doesn't help, check the rest of the site, that's where you'll find new firmware if its anywhere. Failing that, I would shoot a quick email to OWC. They do this sort of thing all the time, and I have found them to be very helpful in the past.
