Its like a dock. I would have thought a Linux variant was just as likely a candidate though. Especially since its at the top of the screen. The one place I've never seen one.

Keep in mind that, if this technology really is on osx, it's with Apple's permission (and probably guidance). if this is the case, it would be on OS 10.5
I, for one, welcome our dock-on-the-top overlords.
