Hey all! you guys may get a kick out of this. Over a year ago, I custom modded a blue and white for a girl I wont name. The unit was painted pearl white with blue flames trailing off the front of it. It was one of my earlier flame jobs, but still really pretty. My pictures are linked below.
Anyway, events led to my ending my associations with this girl just about a year ago. Tonight, I was goofing around on ebay, and I typed in "custom painted mac." Much to my own surprise, I found one of my own machines! It turns out that said girl has put the machine up on ebay for a starting bid of $50. Quite frankly, my paint and labor on the unit is worth easily twice that. Go figure. Anyway, there's about a day left in the auction, so while I could care less how much money she gets for the machine, my personal sense of pride would rather it go to one of us, than some chump on ebay.
If anyone decides to bid on the machine and wins it, I'll reinstate my warranty on the paint work, and will retouch/clean up any damage she might have done to the finish. At the very least, you'll be able to own a one of a kind MYM machine with a killer paintjob and an even stranger story behind it. (winning bidder will get the full story) The link to the auction is below.
