Belongs in prison...criminal negligence of the highest order...

You never never never never never never never never chain shut a door in a public place...tragic for people to die at the hands of idiots...

21 nightclub deaths in Chicago

It is sad...this happened with the famous accident down at the Coliseum with the Who in 1982...

My grandmother owned a large bar here in the area for a lot of years, and my family is all in construction..so they're always preaching about fire codes...everytime I am somewhere and see a door chained shut, it makes me want to go get the bolt cutters....

Club owners are mostly scum. All they do is enforce a stupid dress code so that droves of young well-groomed youth can spite their fine clothing by still looking stupid on the dance floor while some overpriced DJ plays terrible music.

What pisses me off more than anything else is the fact that the aldermen allow these club owners to bribe their way through fire inspections and alcohol licenses while their counterparts up north work hard on shutting out people that just want to have a show now and then in a small friendly (fire safe) environment.

Up north, a couple of local shop owners with ties to the alderman forced out a great small club called Lounge Ax despite the fact that local policemen, patrons, and some older residents wrote in protest. Instead, they now have some white bread sushi bar or something.

-- Charlie Alpha Roger Whiskey
