A mate has just gotten an old ibook it's a 500 or 600 mhz model (can't remember). I have a yoyo style power adapter for my powerbook g3, will that work in the ibook? Or is the plug different?

It should wortk as long as it's a iBook. Just flip over the iBook and check the voltage rating and then look on the charger. I think they use like 18 something volts.
you might also check with Madsonline. They sell aftermarket adapters and you might get one cheaper. They have the distinction of being smaller than the apple power bricks too http://madsonline.com/
The oldest generation of white iBooks shipped with a yo yo adaptor but with the newer, smaller plug on the end (my old ibook 500 uses one) it will not fit the older, larger plug style from the G3 powerbooks and Clamshell iBooks, It will work with any current powerbook or iBook adaptor. I have seen an adaptor that will allow the older supply to work with the newer books, here it is...
Cool thx guys... Might check the local electronics store and see if im able to get some plugs. But if im out of luck that plug at owc is a good solution.
