I installed a Rev 2 Yosemite board into a Rev 1 Yosemite G3 the other day and the thing runs like it is in quicksand. I started with a fresh install of Panther 10.3. I also tried hooking up the old OS 9 drive that I had in there previous to the install. I have 640 Megs of Ram, a Lite-On CD-R, and a ATA Card adapter. I have run it with and without the card, different amounts of Ram and with the original DVD Rom Drive and it makes no difference. I did a keyboard level PRAM reset as well. In OS X all I get are spinning beach balls, and OS 9 just crawls. As far as I can tell, the Rev 1 board ran faster until it quit on me last year. Any suggestions?
I tried to do the firmware update 1.1, but it said I was already up to date... What is the latest version, and how do I find out what my B&W's current version is?
I set the jumpers to speed the processor up to 450Mhz, and did a command line "reset-all" and everything seems to be running much better. I should have done each one seperately to see which one helped most... But I guess I'll know next time. Thanks everyone, for your help.
